What is Odesk?

According to Wikipedia
Odesk is a company with a global job marketplace and a series of tools targeted at businesses that intend to hire and manage remote workers

How does this work?
Odesk has two parties buyers (employers) post jobs and provider (applicant) apply to this jobs being posted.  As a provider, you can select jobs (hourly or fixed price jobs) based on your own forte, apply, bid and wait until buyers contact you for interview.

Interview method usually depends on the buyers.  This can be thru Odesk message or  buyer and provider can have an exchange of yahoo, msn, skype accounts, etc. and have the interview on any of these.

Once you're hired - depending on the rate, type, duration, you can already start.

Type of work
Hourly - once you got this kind of work, your screen will be screened shot every 12minutes.  Odesk and buyer will determine how much of your hourly rate will be paid per hour based on the color in the screen shot.
Fixed Price - payment will depend on your agreement

My friend/officemate-Camiile shared to me about ODESK.
